Slowification: The Deliberate Slow Path to Success

In a world that glorifies speed and relentless hustle, I’m charting a different course with my company, Audetic. After over a decade of crafting SaaS products for startups, I’ve learned that there’s immense power in slowing down. I’m embracing “slowification", a deliberate, thoughtful approach that prioritizes quality, resilience, and lasting impact. You know... like the tortoise in the classic fable, moving steadily and strategically toward success.

A Mosaic of Strategies

Every software company is unique, and I find the diversity in this field endlessly fascinating. Bringing people together for a shared mission is an art, and at Audetic, I’m weaving together three core philosophies to guide our path. Inspired by Wiring the Winning Organization, The DevOps Handbook, and The Phoenix Project, I’m building Audetic on a foundation of these principles:

1. Wiring the Winning Organization

  • Slowification: I take the time to simplify and streamline processes, ensuring every change is intentional and builds long-term value.
  • Simplification: I break complex challenges into manageable pieces, creating robust, repeatable systems.
  • Amplification: Once the foundation is solid, I design systems that scale and multiply our impact.

This means I’m not chasing every new tool or trend. Instead, I’m focused on crafting a resilient, efficient organization that grows stronger with time.

2. Buy Back Your Time

Time is our most precious resource. Drawing from Buy Back Your Time, I’m committed to reclaiming my hours for high-impact work. Here’s how I do it:

  • Eliminating Distractions: I prioritize tasks that drive real value, tuning out the noise that can derail my focus.
  • Delegating and Automating: I automate repetitive tasks and delegate where possible, freeing up energy for what matters most.
  • Strategic Focus: Every minute I save is reinvested into Audetic’s core mission; building a product that transforms how teams capture and recall ideas, conversations, and more.

3. The Eisenhower Matrix

To make these strategies actionable, I rely on the Eisenhower Matrix, a simple tool that keeps me focused on what truly matters:

  • Quadrant I: Urgent & Important: I tackle critical tasks that demand immediate attention.
  • Quadrant II: Not Urgent but Important: This is where I spend most of my time, on high-impact tasks that fuel long-term growth and embody slowification.
  • Quadrant III: Urgent but Not Important: I minimize these tasks, as they don’t drive core value.
  • Quadrant IV: Not Urgent & Not Important: I eliminate these distractions entirely.

By applying this matrix daily, I ensure I’m not just bus, I’m productive, focusing on what moves Audetic forward.

Audetic’s Execution Strategy: Being the Tortoise

My vision for Audetic is clear and my primary energy is spent on building the apps and services that directly support the “Record → Recall → Act” workflow that empowers your workday.

There are other players in the market and I see them sprinting ahead like the rabbit does. But none of them see the bigger picture the way I see it. The challenge is the opportunity is one of those ones where you can literally boil the ocean. These are great, but also, not great, especially if time is not on your side. The market and use cases will materialize over time, not over night. And Audetic's thoughtful architecture and approach will be able to rapidly respond to the market demand and use cases in the long run.

Final Thoughts

My approach with Audetic is shaped by years of building SaaS products, through successes and failures alike. I’m carving a deliberate path forward, one that values quality and sustainability over a frantic race.

This is my commitment to slowification:

building Audetic’s future with the care and precision of the tortoise. I’m moving forward steadily, one thoughtful step at a time, knowing that lasting success comes from focus and resilience.

I invite you to join me on this journey as I reclaim time, sharpen focus, and create an ecosystem that empowers your memory and creativity.
